So glad to be back on US soil, and to see our beloved friends and family. Thanks to all who came down to cheer us on as we exited the terminal. Thanks for all the prayers and support.

See you soon!

July 13, 2009

Well friends our mission’s trip is coming to an end, tomarrow is our last day and today we are reflecting and contemplating our time here. Some of us went over to the building site to finish the roof, it was awesome to see the huge difference! We all had an awesome time serving and blessing this family and were blessed by them also. Tonight we are barbecuing and spending time together as a team. We are all excited to see you soon, please pray for the trip home and the remaining days here. Thank you all.

Como Esta!

Como esta!

It was great to see all of you on Skype today! Yesterday we joined up with the Tamarindo Calvary Chapel Youth group for a day at the flamingo Beach. We played Frisbee, soccer, boogie boarded, and just played in the water. We also performed the drama at a showing of “Fireproof”. Today we got to relax and just spend time with God and each other talking and sharing. We also got to do some souvenir shopping and swimming in the pool. Altogether it was an awesome day full of fun, bonding, and personal devos. Thank you for your prayers, we’ll see you soon.

First Day of VBS

July 8, 2009

A lot of planning went into the upcoming three days of VBS. With no sign ups there is not an exact number of kids expected to come. We were praying that we would have enough for everyone and God provided just enough. We went throughout the neighborhoods a couple days earlier wearing clown suits and passing out flyers and balloons. The extra clothing and walking made everyone really hot and drenched in sweat, but we were all blessed with seeing the little kids’ smiles.

hola!

July 7, 2009

      Hola friends and family,

We have been preparing for VBS these last couple days. Yesterday and today we dressed up in our clown costumes and walked the nieborhood handing invites to VBS and balloons to all the ninas (kids). Please pray that it goes well and that we are able to touch their lives despite the language barrier. We also babysat for Cappy and Kat so they could wind down and spend some alone time together. The building team continues to bless Don Santiago and his family.

We are experiencing some hard core spiritual warfare so please continue praying for our team. Please also keep Xavier in prayer, he’s got a pretty bad cold but is still working hard to glorify the lord. Some other things to pray for are  team unity, reaching the ticos, and Cappy and his family.  Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. We love and miss you.

Greetings!

July 5, 2009

Greetngs friends,

Today Sunday the 5th we attended the service at Beach Community Church (we miss Calvary Chapel Aurora). After the service we drove back to Calvary Tamarindo and enjoyed an authentic Costa Rican lunch. A family from the church has been providing these lunches for us everyday and have truly blessed us, most of the lunches include rice and beans, plantains, meat, and juice. (Glenn’s favorite is the fried plantains) After lunch our team split into groups, some returned to the building site, some are cleaning the church, and some are doing child care and food prep as we plan to have a Costa Rican BBQ tonight.

praise reports: No one’s been sick thus far. Weather has been cooperating for the building project. Many have heard the gospel through street ministring and the drama.

Please pray for continued health, upcoming VBS, safety for the team, and particularly for Cody and Katie (two girls who KC shared the gospel with yesturday) who might attend church service tonight and receive Christ as their Savior. Thank you, its comforting to know you guys are praying for us.

             God bless,

Greetings friends and family,
Today, because Tamarindo is a tourist desination for some many people from all over the world we had the opportunity to share the gospel with people from Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, and even Durango and Vail, Colorado!  Many don’t know Jesus and are just here in Tamrindo to party and have a “good” time.  The youth and leaders from CC Tamarindo and CC Aurora hit the streets handing out Bible and gospel tracts.  It was amazing  to see Costa Ricans and US youth sharing the gospel side by side.

The building team as been pouring the hearts and labor into a gentleman by the name of Santiago.  God has been protecting them in many ways and bringing them closer together as a team.  Please continue to pray for them for safety and continued strength.  The work is labor intensive with sifting of gravel, mixing cement and laying bricks for the foundation.

The team has been great working, praying, singing, serving together.  We marvel at what God has put together.  Today we has a few hours to take a break and surf some waves at Tamarindo beach, where the water is like bath water.

Peace!

Peace!

God bless you.

Greetings friends,
Today we visited a local school and performed our drama. Since it was a big event for the school, students from all over Central and South America were able to see God’s love and thanks to Cappy and Jesus ( our translator), the students were also able to hear the gospel. All eyes were on the performance and we truly believed many were touched. We also went an abandoned house for prayer and meditation oonGod’s word, it was very encouraging and uplifting. Thank you all for your prayers.
